And it’s here. The biggest comic event of the century(?) is here. And almost every Avengers and X-men title will be affected by it. Issue zero came out last week and sort of set up the plot. If you’ve read with “Avengers: X-sanction”, the nova short story in “Point One”, and “Avengers:The Children’s Crusade”, along with the issue zero, then you should be more than familiar with what the plot is. It will also help to have read “Avengers: Disassembled”, “House of M”, and “X-men: Second Coming”, as all the plot threads from those events should be resolved, or expanded upon during “AvX”. I’m sure a new reader can jump on board issue one, but it helps to understand events the preceded the comic. Also you get a free digital code, and a free digital “Nova” one-shot written by Mark Waid. So you’re actually getting some great value with your purchase. Hopefully the rotating writing team won’t have a negative impact on the story.

Also out this week is Daredevil #10.1, Swamp Thing #8, Animal man #8, Wolverine and the X-men #8, Venom #15, Amazing Spider-man #683, Ultimate comics: Spider-man #9, the final issue of O.M.A.C., Fatale #4, and a Infestation 2: 30 days of night one-shot. So despite the huge comic mega-event, there’s a decent amount of variety this week.

So it was just announced at Wondercon that Kelly Sue DeConnick will be writing a new ongoing Captain Marvel (formerly Ms. Marvel) series, with Dexter Soy on interiors and Ed McGuinness on covers. I had the privilege of designing Carol’s new costume. Our idea was to give her a kind of swash-buckling costume that invoked a sense of her history as an Air Force officer. Her hair is slicked back at the sides when in costume - so her Kree-style helmet can form when she needs it.

Can’t wait for the series to launch! I love Carol Danvers, and Kelly Sue is one of my favourite writers. More details here.

This and “Saucer Country” are very high on my list of comics this week. And “Demon Knights”, which is always awesome. “Saga” is Brian K. Vaughan’s return to comics. That’s enough for me, considering he wrote the amazing “Runaways” and “Y: The Last Man”. Also out this week is “Adventure Time #2”, “Avengers #24”, “Avengers Assemble”, “Punisher #9”, “Wolverine and the X-men #7”, “Ultimate Comics:X-men #9”, “Green Lantern #7”, “Batgirl #7”, “Batwoman #7” and “Thief of Thieves #2”.

First attempt at drawing. and it’s kind of bad. But it only took an hour.

Yes I have plans. Do I want to talk about? No. Why? ‘Cause. It isn’t your business. Can I remember how to spell “business”? Barely. But that’s not the point. That wasn’t the point. What was the point? Ah yes. “Plans, plans. So many plans.”

My mind is blank. Going to the prestigious college “WCC” has drained me of what little intelligence I had. I can barely form a coherent thought. I had to double-check my spelling for the word “coherent”. This college has made me doubt myself. And now I must find a way to vent my aggression(had to check that too).

And detoxing from all the shitty food I normally eat is making hard. No more Pepperoni Pizza. No Bacon cheeseburgers. Must lose weight. Must get healthy.

And I guess Avengers vs X-men is coming. Conveniently before “The Avengers” hits theaters. Feels like it was planned, eh? But whatever I’ll buy it. I’ll even buy all the books tie into it, the ones that I already read at least. It still feels weird that it’s been only six months since “Fear itself” ended.

Ugh, but my brain is broken. It’s like something is making me super lazy and stealing my very limited knowledge. Brain no feel good.

A comic based on this wonderfully witty comic was inevitable. Thank God it looks totally awesome! So forget “Secret Avengers”, “Powers”, “Wolverine and the X-men”, and “Green Lantern”. It’s Adventure Time!

Or maybe pick up the new issue of “Batwoman” or “Journey into Mystery” at your local comic store, or your ipad…or laptop….or your droid. Or just don’t buy comics.

Something awful my sleep deprived, childlike brain made. A work in progress? edit: HAHA no.

Disclaimer: This is probably not a good idea. I have no idea what I’m doing, and I’m sure something will come along that will just mess things up. But hey, what’s the worst that could happen? I’m a giant strawberry Sundae who’s gonna express himself on the internet in a desperately irrelevant, and possibly(definitely) idiotic manner.
